Kandy | Pinnawala | Nuwara Eliya | Rathnapura | Colombo | Nigambo

Day 01 : Air port / Kandy

Arrival. Meet and greet by Sri Lanka for Holidays at the Airport. Transfer to Hotel in Kandy. Dinner at the hotel Overnight stay at the hotel.

Kandy city & Temple :

After breakfast, you will have a city tour of Kandy, visiting the temple of the tooth and some leisure time for shopping. Evening you will be entertained with a spectacular Sri Lankan cultural show.

Tempple of the Tooth Relic of the Buddha :

Visit the Temple of the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. This temple, the most important one for The Sri Lankan Buddhists was built in the 16th Century A.D. solely for the purpose of housing the tooth relic. Observe the magnificent Architecture of that period and experience the tranquility of the at mosphere.

Elephent Operage :

The foster - home of elephants of different age and size feed, bathe, play together and even mate. These great animals have been found injured or left abandoned in the wilderness. Now they even breed in captivity. You can wash and do milk feeding (by bottles) to elephants.

Day 02 : Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

Breakfast at the hotel. Checkout from the hotel and transfer to Nuwara Eliya witnessing the Ramboda Water Fall and Anjaneear Temple in Pusselawa while driving through tea plantations. Evening at leisure, Dinner at the hotel & Overnight stay at the hotel.

En-route to Nuwara Eliya you will visit a Tea factory of the popular Sri Lankan Tea.

Anjaneyar temple :

Visit Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple, Ramboda. The Ramboda area is believed to be an area where Rama's forces were gathered against Ravana. RamPadai means Rama's Force. The hills of Ramboda is also believed where Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi. The Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka has built an Anjaneyar temple with Hanuman as the presiding deity. This temple is called Sri Baktha Hanuman temple and the image of lord Hanuman here is 16 Feet tall.

Tea Factory :

Visit a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory. Sri Lanka being famous for its "Ceylon Tea" hasadded cheer to many the world over for more than a century.Arrive in Nuwara Eliya to be greeted by the fresh wintry atmosphere, the cottage typebungalows and the colonial air. ( Nuwara Eliya is also known as "Little England")

Nuwara Eliya City Tour :

Drive through the little town of Nuwara Eliya observing the well-maintained buildings ofcolonial Architecture. Visit the busy market where the tea plantation workers rush in and outwith their days provisions. Visit the lake Gregory built for generating power during the British Colonial age but now a feature that adds beauty to the city.
Dinner & Overnight stay at a Hotel in Nuwaraeliya.

Evening visit Hakgala Garden :

After Evening visit Seetha Amman temple, Seetha Eliya- The stream that runs from the hill, catered to the needs of Sitadevi during her stay at Ashoka Vatika. She is said to have bathed in this stream. Now there is temple for Lord Rama, Sitadevi, Luxshmana, and Hanuman by the side of this stream. It is interesting to note that foot prints akin to Lord Hanuman's are found by this river and some are of small size and some are of large size, which tells us of the immense powers of hanuman transforming himself into any size.

Day 03 : Nuwara Eliya / Rathnapura

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the "Seetha Amman Kovil" in Nuwara Eliya Sita Eliya Temple is located about 4 km away from the Nuwara Eliya Town on the Nuwara Eliya - Bandarawela road. According to legend the temple is believed to mark the spot where Sita, was held captive by her abductor, King Ravana. On completion visit the Hakgala Botanical Gardens Lunch at the hotel/Restaurant. Thereafter Leave from Hakgala to visit Isthripura via Welimada. This exotic cave still boasts the picturesque cascading waterfall that was in existence 2000 years ago. It was within this cave that Sita was held prisoner with over 1500 women to attend to her every need. Thereafter proceed to Welimada and visit Divurumpola temple. Thereafter proceed to Bandarawela . In the afternoon, visit Ella. Ella, a small mountain near Bandarawela, boasts three locations linked to the Ramayana where, local legend dictates, Ravana hid Sita. First there is Ravana Ella Cave, situated in the massive Ella Rock. Then there is Ravana Ella Falls and a nearby pool bored out of the rock by the gushing waters where Sita is said to have bathed.

Dinner at Over Night Stay in Rathnapura.

Day 04 : Rathnapura / Colombo / Nigambo

Colombo City Tour :

Colombo-the capital of Sri Lanka-is the largest city and main port of Sri Lanka. It is also the commercial and financial center of Sri Lanka. A bustling metropolis, the city is an attractive blend of old and new. It has the lazy charm of the bygone era combined with the verve and vivaciousness of a modern city.

Munneswaram :

Visit Munneswaram- it is about 12 kilometers from Chilaw town on Colombo Puttalam road.

Lord Rama after his victorious battle left for Ayodhya in one of King Ravana's vimana's. He felt he was being followed by bramhaasthi dosham as he had killed King Ravana who was a Brahmin. He stops the vimana at this juncture because he felt at this place the "Brahmaasthi Dosham" was not following him. He ascends from the vimana and asks God Shiva for a remedy. GodShiva blessed Lord Rama and advised installing and praying four lingams at Manavari, Thiru Koneshwaram, Thiru Ketheshwaram and Rameshwaram in India, as the only remedy to get rid of the dosham.

Also visit Manavari is situated on the Chilaw - Puttalam road about 10 km from Chilaw.

Manavari is the first lingam installed and prayed by Lord Rama and till date this lingaJIl is called as Ramalinga Shivan. Rameshwaram is the only other lingam in the world named after Lord Rama.

Dinner and overnight at hotel in Negombo.

Day 05 : Nigambo / Airport

After Breakfast proceed to the Airport for Departure
